Everybody has questions, and we are happy to answer as many as you have! Listed below are some of the questions we hear the most.

Can my child(ren) enroll at CPDLF?

Do I need a computer or laptop?

How does your school take attendance?

For "homework" (or what parents and guardians might think of as homework from out time in school), we are asynchronous, which means students can work on assignments any time during the day and even on weekends. In many cases, a week's worth of homework is assigned on Sunday and students have a week to complete it at their pace. This may look a little different for our older students who are doing lengthier assignments.

Completing homework is one part of the attendance requirements. The other parts come from participation in discussions and showing up for scheduled meetings, live lessons, and assemblies. Your child is not booked solid from 8:00am to 3:00pm, but there are check-ins that happen regularly in addition to the self-directed project and homework time. Those needing alternative schedules (for health, work, sports, hobbies, and more) are able to balance their priorities and still meet attendance requirements.

What does asynchronous mean?

Can my child get individualized help?

YES! We understand that our students may need individual instruction time to better understand a concept. We encourage our students to reach out to their instructors at any time to request help. This can be a scheduled zoom session, email, phone call, or other form of communication. We also have regularly scheduled zoom sessions and in-person learning lab times at each of our centers where students can drop in to get help from instructors and learning guides.

Can my child(ren) still participate in vo-tech?

Is my child still able to participate in activities at their home school district, such as sports and band?

Do I get a PA diploma?

How does a virtual student participate in activities, all school assemblies, clubs & family engagement nights?

Does CPDLF offer NCAA Core Courses?

If my child has an IEP, are they still eligible to enroll?
